The Power of Aang Hamid Suganda's Political Dynasty in Kuningan District

Abstract

This study discusses the power of Aang Hamid Suganda's Political Dynasty in Kuningan Regency. This research is based on political dynasties that still exist in the era of democracy, even though democracy itself states that political dynasties are a bad system and are contrary to democracy. The purpose of this study is to understand how the formation of dynastic politics carried out by the family of Mr. Aang Hamid Suganda to his son. This research is motivated by his political journey which is so influential on the successor to the leadership taken over by his wife and children, making the success of his tenure as Regent of Kuningan calculated from 2003 to 2013. This study uses qualitative research methods, with a descriptive approach and literacy studies as well as interview results. . The theoretical basis used in this research is the theory of democracy and political dynasties. The results of this study indicate that Aang Hamid Suganda has built political influence during his leadership, and earned the nickname "Aang Hotmix". This father of development in Kuningan has succeeded in creating a good image in Kuningan Regency, so that when his term of office ended and was replaced by his wife and then his son. The conclusion is that the political dynasty that occurred in Kuningan was the result of the previous leadership who succeeded in building a good image so that it had an impact on its successors.
